I agree: "Panic, Don't Panic". One of the features of The CGS is that it is always "coming" and never "arriving" on the other hand, if things progress as they are, then we are going to be treated to the spectacle of watching billions of people die from war, hunger, natural disasters and disease. so.... Panic! I’ve been curious about those books and I think I’ll check them out eventually.
