Our dogs had never seen a squirrel. The first few times they were stunned motionless. They eventually decided squirrels were good fodder for chase. They <em>are</em> a little like rats, and rats are frighteningly intelligent. Poised to take over the world, really. It struck me later that I was mighty glad that the squirrel didn't make it inside. I'm not sure how best to capture a squirrel, and I'm not sure what our cats would have done. Up close, I can see why people don’t like them. But they can be a little scary. We had one come through a window screen on the second floor of our place. At least we think we did. There was a hole in the screen and Mary had seen squirrels trying to get in. It's in our kitchen. It must have left again because we never saw it. We were a bit nervous for a while after that. Very nice, Sam. But they can be a little scary.
