<p>Back when I was using PGP all the time &#8212; and unsuccessfully trying to convince others to do so &#8212; I apologized to a friend for forgetting to digitally sign a message. &#8220;That&#8217;s okay,&#8221; he wrote back, &#8220;your wry wit is signature enough.&#8221;</p>
