Another scene from my life with Owen
I told Owen today that a musician named James Brown had died. He sat quietly for a moment, then came over to give me a hug.
“His music is still alive, Papa.”

Salut, Sam!
I googled your name for the heck of it tonight (not sure what even brought you to mind, to be honest). Here you are! Congrats on the young ones. Glad to see you are bringing them up to love real cheese (I’m thinking that was chèvre you were referring to with the camembert in another post).
I am a French teacher in the suburbs, with two kids of my own. My son is 6 and my daughter is 2. Neither of them will eat French cheese. They prefer wisconsin cheddar. At least I’ve been able to avoid the plastic wrapped squares, tho! Are you still a coffee buff as well?
I married a musician, and we are celebrating 16 years of marriage tomorrow. Yikes! Most of my life!
Anyhow- fun to see what you’ve been up to.
